Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar

Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar (1820–1891) was a Bengali scholar, educator, and social reformer of the 19th century. He played a key role in the Bengal Renaissance and advocated for widow remarriage and women's education. He also wrote and adapted several Sanskrit texts into accessible Bengali prose.
