Machado de Assis

Machado de Assis was a Brazilian novelist, short story writer, and poet born in 1839 in Rio de Janeiro. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest writers of Brazilian literature. His works often explore psychological depth, irony, and social criticism. Notable works include Dom Casmurro and The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas.
