Peary Chand Mitra

Peary Chand Mitra (1814–1883), also known by the pseudonym Tekchand Thakur, was a Bengali writer and social reformer. He is considered one of the pioneers of the Bengali novel, and Alaler Ghorer Dulal is regarded as one of the earliest original Bengali novels. His writings reflect contemporary urban society and social change in 19th-century Bengal.
