Saratchandra Chattopadhyay

Saratchandra Chattopadhyay (1876–1938) was a major Bengali novelist and short story writer. His works portray social customs, emotional conflicts, and the lives of women in early 20th-century Bengal. Devdas remains one of his most widely read and adapted novels.
